The Art of Overcoming Procrastination is the Art of Self-Persuasion
Completing one of these will eliminate procrastination.
Questions with a Scale
Always ask yourself how likely you are to complete your task today on a scale from 1 to 10. After stating your number ask yourself why you didn't choose a smaller number.
For example: "On a scale of one to ten, how likely are you to read 20 minutes tonight?" The follow-up question is essential to persuading yourself that you are likely to complete the task.
The Goal Sheet
Commit to a long-term study schedule that exceeds your goal by 3 times the amount.
For Example: “I’m going to complete 1 hour of reading tonight." This way if you fall short of 1 hour and you originally wanted to complete 20 minutes, you'll be over your desired goal.
Publicly Stated Goals
If you state your goals publicly you become more accountable not only to yourself, but to others as well.
