The Art of Overcoming Procrastination is?

The Art of Overcoming Procrastination is the Art of Self-Persuasion

Completing one of these will eliminate procrastination.

  • Questions with a Scale

Always ask yourself how likely you are to complete your task today on a scale from 1 to 10.
After stating your number ask yourself why you didn't choose a smaller number.

For example: "On a scale of one to ten, how likely are you to read 20 minutes tonight?" The follow-up question is essential to persuading yourself that you are likely to complete the task.

  • The Goal Sheet

Commit to a long-term study schedule that exceeds your goal by 3 times the amount.

For Example: “I’m going to complete 1 hour of reading tonight." This way if you fall short of 1 hour and you originally wanted to complete 20 minutes, you'll be over your desired goal.

  • Publicly Stated Goals

If you state your goals publicly you become more accountable not only to yourself, but to others as well.
